Chicken & Vegetable Stew

Warming Chicken and Vegetable Stew, what better way to beat the cold weather!

So this is the official food of the Beast from the East! This chicken stew will warm you from the inside out and considering that temperatures will not rise above freezing for the next couple of days and there is snow falling as I type then I think this is the recipe for you.

Talk of Status Red warnings and dangerous driving conditions has blanket coverage on the radio and the television, all this before Storm Emma makes her appearance!

I love this recipe because apart from a bit of time preparing the vegetables it pretty much cooks itself. Want to add a splash of white wine, no problem any wine that's good enough to drink with your meal can be added at the cooking stage and it will give your stew some extra flavour. Your choice of chicken stock is very important because it will impart the most flavour so don't skimp, add a good quality rich in flavour stock.

White Chocolate Cheesecake (No Bake)

Easy No Bake White Chocolate Cheesecake, the perfect ending to a romantic meal or dinner party.

I am a huge fan of chocolate (no surprise to my regular readers!) and if it's possible I am an even bigger fan of cheesecake! What better than a delicious slice of creamy and indulgent cheesecake after a sumptuous meal. This recipe is not cloying nor is it too heavy, just the right combination of rich, fragrant and a subtle hint of white chocolate sweetness. In fact I made this cheesecake twice before I got a chance to photograph it, the first time it was eaten in it's entirety  before you could say Cheese :)

Alison Roman's Salted Butter & Chocolate Chunk Shortbread

Alison Roman's Salted Butter and Chocolate Chunk Shortbread Cookies, step by step recipe.

Okay I am completely powerless when it comes to chocolate, especially chocolate chips, I add them to a LOT of my baked treats, I can't resist a recipe that calls for copious amounts of chunky chocolate chips and one that's really straightforward to's a failing I know!

So needless to say my eye was caught at the sight of these beautiful shortbread cookies on Instagram. I was doing my usual daily hourly scan of my timeline when I noticed this hash tag #diningincookbook, appetising enough as I love dining in but what caught my eye was what usually followed was a plateful of mouthwatering cookies. What's all this? Why is everyone raving about these cookies. Not one to be left behind on a cookie trail of discovery, I decided to find out for myself what Alison Roman's cookies were really like to make and better still what they tasted like! I know I'm a sucker for delicious tasting sweet treats so this is going to be no hardship :)
